Hello Lb-er,

I have just heard in my new company that there is an IBM Network Dispatcher
load balancer.
It seems to be software based and I cannot find any reference on IBM website
(I got a cool 404 error not found message ;().

Does anyone here have some experience with such software ?
(I am usualy fluent with F5 Big/IP, Foundry ServerironXL and Extreme
networks ones...).

I have some questions about availability and stability of such software
compared to "big" one like F5/Fndry and Extreme...

Thank :)
/Xavier

Xavier,

Good luck to you in using the IBM Network Dispatcher, I can't say that I've
heard of very good results. Typically with most software based load
balancing solutions you really only get even load distribution with 2
servers. Above that there is typically odd behavior regarding the load
distribution.

But since you asked, I believe that Network Dispatcher was rolled into the
WebSphere Edge Server. Check this URL and you probably can find the
remainder of the information in a IBM Redbook.
